Do you provide training on the equipment and operation of my Food Truck?

What size and type of trucks do you offer?
Typically we use between 18’ and 22’ Ford F-59 step-vans which have been modified by Morgan Olsen to be better suited for Food Truck usage with thicker walls and ceilings and wider bodies, the F-59 Foundation Model is ideally suited for operating a Food Truck. In addition to the Step Vans, we like to use a Ford F-550 chassis when fabricating a kitchen and housing from the ground up. Think of one with the shell (F-59) and one without (F-550). We recently added a Tear Drop Trailer to our product line.
What about branding my food truck?
Our graphic design team works with you throughout the process to develop custom graphics dedicated to providing a “WOW” factor that makes your brand stand out among the competitions. Our graphics installation team uses on the highest quality film from 3M to give your graphics the cleanest look and most vibrant colors.
Is financing or leasing available?
We can direct you to third-party financing companies that deal with specialty vehicles such as food trucks. In certain cases, On The Move Custom Food Trucks, has the ability to arrange a leasing option for you based on credit check.
How about health codes and safety regulations?
With hundreds of different codes throughout the United States, it is vital that your Food Truck is built to meet the all the codes and regulations in your locale. Our team has dedicated resources to ensure your truck will meet the requirements of your local health department and fire marshal. We will walk you through every step of the process including fire suppression, size of service window, and fresh/gray water holding tank volumes specific to your locale or anywhere you think you may use your truck.
What kind of equipment will my food truck come with?
Our first question to you is: what type of menu will you be offering followed by what type of business plan do you have in mind? Your answers will allow us to design your kitchen to maximize work space and flow as well as number of meals per hour.
What kind of warranties are available for my new Food Truck?
Our food trucks come with a 3 year/36,000 mile factory warranty and extended warranties are available. Equipment warranties are per the equipment manufacturer and we warranty the build (housing, electrical, & plumbing) for up to 1 year.
Should I go with a new or used truck?
The statistics are clear. 80% of first time food truck operators who buy a used truck to save on upfront costs go out of business in the first two years due to unforeseen maintenance expenses. If you have budgetary issues and have found a used truck you would like to put into service, a quality manufacturer should still be contracted to do the retrofitting and help you get as much service life out of the vehicle.
What to look for in a Food Truck manufacturer?
Your first priority when searching for a company to build your food truck is ascertaining the credibility of the manufacturer. Ask for examples of trucks they have built that align with the type of service you are planning and if they will allow you to contact their past customers for recommendations or testimonials.

Client Testimonials

  • “Our El Charro Food Truck would not be the truck it is today without Detroit Custom Coach*…literally. Not only did they turn our once empty truck into a beautiful commercial kitchen, but they did it in a timely and effective manner. Chris at DCC* kept us informed and educated on the progress of our truck and adjusted the build out as needed to accommodate our design tweaks and planning errors. Jessica was a pleasure to work with and her knowledge of Health Department codes and standards is pretty remarkable. Getting a mobile kitchen on the road is a HUGE undertaking, to say the least. The crew at DCC* helped handle a lot of the pressures involved and had a major role in helping us take our family owned restaurant to the streets of Metro Detroit.”
